Yesterday, while helping with funeral service stuff at work, I received word that my grandmother had passed away. Her first husband, my grandfather, passed away back in the 1950's. My other grandparents died when I was in my early twenties, almost ten years ago. I'm not sure how to react now that all the grandparents and great-grandparents are gone. I've sent flowers to Florida so I hope the rest of the family enjoys them.
I'm still helping throw a party this entire crazy weekend. I'm still writing. Because I think, if I know one thing about the dead, they don't expect the living to stop for them. Grieve, but keep moving. Personally, having something to do allows me to keep from falling into depression because of my grief. And, I'd like to think that Grandma would have gotten a kick out of NaNoWriMo, what with her editing work early on in her career.
But yes, it's been an awkward start to NaNo. Here's hoping that Huntress is a NaNoWriMo winner by November 30th. I will try to catch up with local write-ins for week 2.
